Draft for professional review - Updated June 30, 2026

Cancellation & refund policy

This page explains how cancellation, refunds, no-shows, waiting time, transportation, and quality concerns are handled for LaborMap fixed-fee Language Desk packages.

Before paid launch

This policy is the working public draft for the direct-sale Language Desk model. Final wording, tax receipt handling, payment-provider workflow, and any telecommunications-sales filing requirement should be reviewed before collecting paid orders.

Plain-language summary

LaborMap does not use a blanket no-refund rule. Refunds depend on whether work has started and what part of the package has already been provided.

Full refund before work starts

If no assigned linguist or LaborMap task has started, you can cancel for a full refund.

Started work may be deducted

If you asked for immediate start or a scheduled service has begun, completed or already-started work and pre-disclosed pass-through expenses may be deducted.

No result guarantee

A Labor Office result, settlement, recovery, or professional outcome is not guaranteed and is not a refund reason.

When work is treated as started

The quote shown before payment must state the service-start trigger for the package.

General cancellation and refund rules

These rules apply unless a more specific rule in the quote is more favorable to the user.

Service-specific rules

The final quote controls the exact schedule, unit, and scope, but it must be consistent with these public rules.

Written translation or review

  • Before translation or review starts: full refund.
  • After work starts and before delivery: refund the unworked portion if the task can be divided by page, word count, section, message, or milestone.
  • After delivery: no change-of-mind refund for correctly delivered work; correction is provided for omissions, mistranslation, formatting omissions, or scope mismatch.
  • Urgent or immediate-start work follows the same rules, but immediate-start consent must be explicit before payment.

Phone interpretation

  • More than 24 hours before scheduled start: full refund.
  • Within 24 hours before waiting begins: one free reschedule if capacity allows; otherwise refund any unprovided part after pre-disclosed started admin or pass-through expense.
  • After scheduled start or linguist waiting begins: reserved time and waiting time count toward the package.
  • User no-show or unreachable after 15 minutes: treated as service started unless LaborMap grants a hardship exception.
  • LaborMap or linguist no-show: full refund or free replacement/reschedule at the user's choice if no useful service was provided.

In-person interpretation

  • More than 48 hours before scheduled start: full refund.
  • 24-48 hours before scheduled start: one free reschedule if capacity allows; refund calculation may deduct only documented pass-through expense or professionally approved reservation compensation disclosed before payment.
  • Less than 24 hours before scheduled start but before departure: one free reschedule if capacity allows; any retained reservation portion must have been disclosed before payment.
  • After linguist departure: actual transportation or other pre-disclosed pass-through expense and the disclosed started attendance or waiting portion may be deducted.
  • User no-show after 20 minutes on site: treated as service started unless LaborMap grants a hardship exception.
  • LaborMap or linguist late/no-show: refund, partial refund, or free replacement/reschedule depends on whether useful service was still provided.

Clerical support

  • Before clerical work starts: full refund.
  • After fax, call, or organization starts: deduct the completed task portion and refund unprovided tasks in a multi-task package.
  • If LaborMap sends to the wrong number or fails to perform a stated confirmation, free re-performance is the first remedy.
  • If a Labor Office does not answer or changes its practice despite a reasonable attempt, that is not LaborMap fault; one follow-up attempt is provided only when included or separately quoted.

How to cancel or request a refund

Send the request to the support channel used for the quote or to support@labormap.kr. Keep the quote ID, payment name, and requested service in the message.

  1. 01

    Request received

LaborMap records the request time, order or quote ID, and requested remedy.

  2. 02

    Start status checked

LaborMap checks whether work started, what portion was provided, and whether any pre-disclosed pass-through expense was incurred.

  3. 03

    Calculation shared

For a partial refund, LaborMap provides a simple calculation showing paid amount, provided or started portion, pass-through expense, and refund amount.

  4. 04

    Refund processed

Refunds due are processed within 3 business days after the refund amount is confirmed. The payment provider or bank may take additional time to post the refund.

  5. 05

    Records retained

Quote, acceptance, payment, service-start, cancellation, refund, and complaint records are retained under the published privacy and retention schedule.

Important limits

The quote shown before payment must make these limits clear.

Separate professional engagements

This policy applies only to LaborMap fixed-fee language or clerical packages. If you separately hire a certified labor consultant, lawyer, or other licensed professional, that professional's own written quote, engagement terms, cancellation rules, and refund rules apply.
